Returning to Independent Venue Week this year after a triumphant show with Liily in 2018 is The Echo in Los Angeles.
Since The Echo opened in 2001, it has become the go-to destination for major local music events in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood. The venue hosts dance nights and shows with touring artists all while introducing some of the hottest new bands to the L.A. music scene.
The Echo and Echoplex are known for embracing talent from around the world as well as from down the block–this is a result of Spaceland Presents’ adventurous booking policy for the rooms, which helped land The Echo in Filter Magazine’s top 5 music venues in Los Angeles.
The Echo’s free Monday Night Music residency has helped launch the careers of The Airborne Toxic Event, Hanni El Khatib, War Paint, Active Child, and Foster the People. Notable bands that have graced the venue’s stage include Beck, Green Day, Skrillex, Nine Inch Nails, Atoms for Peace, Incubus, LCD Soundsystem, Kendrick Lamar, Run The Jewels, Steve Aoki, Thundercat, Lorde, HAIM, Tove Lo, Future Islands, Jamie XX, and The Rolling Stones.
