The Macbeth Has Been A Music And Arts Pub For Over 100 Years. Hosting some of the most prominent bands of our era, often at pivotal moments in their careers. This Pub Has Survived Two World Wars, Typhoid And An Unrelenting Bombardment Of Some Of The Best Intimate Live Performances And Parties Known In The Western Hemisphere. It Has Also – So Far – Survived Hackney Council’s Continuing Mission, To Sterilise Culture And Diversity In This Historically Colourful Borough. In fact, Feb 2019 may prove to be the most crucial month in the venue’s history, as we finally take the fight to court in an effort to win the rights to keep this wonderful venue alive for the foreseeable future!
A long time hub for Hoxton’s live music scene, The Macbeth is once again on the up, with a whole host of new, exciting promoters set to take over the calendar. As well as alternative music taste-makers Permanent Creeps Records moving their entire label/club night into the venue on a full-time basis.
