THE ANGEL MICROBREWERY

7 Stoney Street, Nottingham, NG1 1LG | Venue Cap. 110 | Website

The Chapel is situated in The Angel Microbrewery which is a Grade 2 listed building and has been here since the late 1700s. Formally a Chapel it has hosted many events from meetings with The Odd fellows to The Arctic Monkeys playing live. It’s steeped in history and as a live music venue has had a lot of bands play here from Rain (pre-oasis) to more recently re-opened in October 2016 with DJ Andy Smith and have had bands such as Once and the future band/Kagoule/Desert mountain tribe to name a few.
After the makeover and a little bit of tender loving care we were keen to make the space available for the community and went out the way to introduce new events which the venue had never seen before. With such a versatile space The Chapel venue is used for drama groups, improv comedy, workshops and Nottingham/International community events. The space is for the people of Nottingham and will always be that way so we were keen to make it available to use so it’s excess able to everyone. This is the core ethos of the venue and we are fully integrated with local promoters to give bands the opportunity to play in The Chapel at The Angel Microbrewery.
Situated in the heart of Hockley (Lacemarket) it stands prominently on Stoney Street which has become a hub for independent businesses and keeps growing from strength to strength. So this music venue will always and forever be a part of Nottingham’s illustrious history.
