THE LINCOLN IMP
The Lincoln Imp, Gloucester Avenue, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 2DN | Venue Cap. 300 | Website
The Lincoln Imp in Scunthorpe North Lincolnshire is a small community public house which is situated in a residential area of Scunthorpe. Scunthorpe is perfectly situated as we are in close proximity to Grimsby, Hull, Lincoln, Doncaster, York & Sheffield. Since opening its doors in 1953 the venue has developed a rich history of supporting original live musicians, bands and artists. Our function room is small, however we feel it punches above its weight! The Imp is a very intimate venue which all artists who have gigged here in the past have commented positively about; the crowd reception, the quality of the sound and the excellent DMX Macintosh controlled lighting system. Local music supporter Kevin Searby volunteers his free time and earnings to make the room sound, and look, as good as the top venues in the uk. Apart from upholding the law as a serving Police Officer, Kevin promotes grass roots music by hosting gigs with a close knit team of promoters. Recently the Imp has played host to “Mapped Out” gigs and has hosted gigs with Enter Shikari, Young Guns, Don Broco, Lord Bishop Rocks, Adam Bomb, The Crookes, The Struts, Spunge, The Kut, Amplifier, and Scunthorpes very own Jay Sikora (session drummer for Paolo Nutini), Stephen Fretwell (solo artist and Last Shadow Puppets guitarist) and The Ruen Brothers; all of which used The Lincoln Imp to hone their musical skill as youngsters.
The Lincoln Imp is a true “heart on its sleeve”, dedicated live music venue which has already fostered the growth of some of todays stars of the music scene. We believe “Independent Venue Week” was made for The Lincoln Imp to reward our customers for supporting our venue and The Lincoln Imp was made for “Independent Venue Week” as it provides the perfect intimate environment, with the highest standards, in a community public house setting.
