The Sugarmill is Stoke-on-Trent’s nationally acclaimed live music venue and nightclub, which has been open since 1994. We are situated in the city centre and we are proud to be a small independent venue bringing bigger touring acts to the people of the city. We’ve hosted literally hundreds and hundreds of bands many of whom have gone on to massive success, examples include: Coldplay, Muse, Elbow, Daft Punk, Stereophonics, A Day to Remember, Snow Patrol, The National, Maximo Park, Kasabian, Biffy Clyro, The Subways, Trivium, Bring Me The Horizon, Foals, You Me at Six, Glassjaw, The 1975, Catfish and The Bottlemen, Blossoms and The Libertines to name just a few. We actively promote the local band scene and are incredibly proud and passionate supporters of the plethora of talented artists from this area. We host local band shows at least once a week, and we scour the internet looking for all the untapped local talent to give a stage to, and help them build a profile and give them opportunities to play with big name artists when we can. We’re open every Friday for our ELECTRIC FRIDAY club night, which is the longest running alternative club night in Staffordshire (established in 1996). It’s indie and alternative in the main room, Room 2 for music on the heavier side. We also have a roof top terrace with a bar and toilets. Last Friday of every month is our all-nighter until 6am. We host THE MOVE on occasional Saturdays and every Bank Holiday Sunday, a club night that brings you the biggest names in international house music. We also have occasional rock and metal club nights such as Devils Night and emo night The Black Parade.
