Of course, for determined, passionate music advocates like owners Cindy Barber and Mark Leddy, simply running a great music venue isn’t enough. Together with their extensive staff, they have helped lots of local bands, giving them a space to play and grow, encouraging them to think like businesses, focus on social media, audience recruitment and merchandising. In addition to programming hundreds of live shows each year, the venue also runs a successful food service at night and for Saturday lunch and Sunday brunch, focusing on high-quality, inexpensive meals. The venue features music almost every night of the week, featuring both locally and internationally recognized artists. Over the years, we have hosted some historic bands at Doug Fir including Built to Spill, James Blake, St. Vincent, Mobb Deep, Vampire Weekend, Pussy Riot, Portugal.
